Description

An integrated solution, accessible at the time of order, for consulting Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) for advanced imaging to meet requirements under the Protecting Access to Medicare Act (PAMA).

EvidenceCare connects seamlessly within the provider’s workflow to provide immediate consultation based on the care decisions made on behalf of the patient. As a CMS-qualified Clinical Decision Support Mechanism (qCDSM), health care delivery organizations have assurance they are fully compliant with the PAMA federal mandate. This is accomplished in three easy steps:

1. Throughout the course of care, a provider identifies the need for advanced imaging to determine the appropriate diagnosis and treatment for a patient.
2. At the point of ordering imaging, the provider launches an EvidenceCare AUC protocol and answers a few quick questions about the patient’s presentation, history, and condition.
3. The Imaging Criteria Solution consults the correct AUC guidelines to determine the appropriateness of the imaging study selected for the patient. Approval or denial is provided, and the authorization code, when applicable, is notated in the record.
